What to expect: Guests enter the hotel from a quiet sidestreet of the smart Mayfair district and walk into the shiny, marble-floored lobby, which is topped off by a clear and stained-glass Baccarat chandelier. Surrounding the lobby is an intriguing collection of ethnic objets d'art.
Amenity highlights: The hotel houses its own spa and wellness centre, where all treatments are performed in conjunction with a heat sequence. Advanced treatments include ultraviolet skin analysis and microdermabrasion. Expert therapists, aromatic steam, an herbal sauna, and progression of showers set the scene, which is complemented by waterfalls of jasmine water, granite floors, atmospheric lighting, and a continuation of the hotel's Asian theme in the artwork displayed.
Insider tip: Mayfair is one of London’s ritziest districts, packed with glamorous hotels, restaurants, and art galleries. Two blocks to the west, Shepherd’s Market offers a pocket of more genuinely local color with street cafés, public houses, and restaurants.

Guests can keep up with their fitness regimes by visiting the The May Fair's fitness room, which includes 14 versatile resistence and cadio machines as well as individually-controlled TV sets with Sky channels. After a workout guests can choose to relax in the wellness centre, which offers 18 different treatments ranging from pedicures, manicures, facials, and massages, as well as 'executive hour' sessions (all treatments are available for a surcharge). Also included in the centre are 'heat circuit' facilities including steam rooms and several shower types (bucket, Scottish, and aroma), and a relaxation room stocked with fresh fruit, sorbets, and teas.
